The Repair Process / How It Works
5 Star Panel Repairs will advise you on the what we believe to be the best course of action, when it comes to repairs of your vehicle. This will include lodging an insurance claim or getting in contact with the other party’s insurance company.
If your vehicle is still drive-able, we can arrange a time for you to come in to our workshop and we will inspect the damage.
If your vehicle can not be driven, we will send one of our tow trucks to pick it up. If the vehicle is at the scene of an accident, we will arrange an accident allocated tow truck to pick your vehicle up and bring it to 5 Star Panel Repairs.
Time off the road is an inconvenience, that’s why at 5 Star Panel Repairs, we will provide you with a replacement vehicle as soon possible. We take great pride in helping our clients and a loan car is all part of our customer service.
Our accredited estimators thoroughly inspect a vehicle for damage and once we have inspected the vehicle, we will prepare a detailed estimate for you. Once approved, this will be submitted to the relevant insurance company.
This is a part of the process we cannot always control. We will send the quote as soon as it is completed, but sometimes the insurance companies may not be able to assess the vehicle for up to 2 or more weeks.
However, you won’t be off the road, because we strive to provide our customers with a loan car for the duration of the repair process.
Depending on your insurance company, the assessment booking is usually two to five business days, after they have received the quote.
Once your vehicle has been assessed, the insurance company will provide authorisation to go ahead with the repairs to your vehicle.
Providing your claim is in order, repairs will then begin to your vehicle. We will keep you updated every step of the way throughout the repair process.
Your vehicle will be stripped, parts are ordered and the repair process will begin. Most manufacturers have parts on the shelf, however some manufacturers have to import the parts from overseas.
This typically can take around one to three business weeks, but is is all dependent on the make, model and type of part required.
Throughout the repair process, we will strive to keep you informed every step of the way. Once repairs are completed, the vehicle is prepared for paint, is then painted, reassembled, polished, detailed and a final check of the vehicle is carried out. If the vehicle needs to be taken to the dealer, we can arrange that too.
Our commitment to our customers doesn’t end after your vehicle is repaired! We will go over the vehicle with you upon delivery and can arrange for you to pick your vehicle or have it delivered to your location.
If there are any issues, concerns, questions regarding the repairs carried out on your vehicle, they will be dealt with in a professional and prompt manner.
We guarantee all repair work. We will give you a courtesy phone call a few days after collection to ensure that you are happy with the repairs.
